“Laid-Back Camp Movie Releases Brief Trailer and New Teaser Visual”

The upcoming Laid-Back Camp movie has released a 30-second trailer, which gives audiences a look at Nadeshiko working at an outdoor goods store and teases Rin’s desire to open a campsite. The trailer also previews the theme song “Sun Is Coming Up” by Asaka.

A new teaser visual was also released, with all five girls and Chikuwa posing as they work on a plot of land.

The Laid-Back Camp movie is set to open in Japan on July 1. The first and second seasons of the camping-themed Laid-Back Camp aired in 2018 and 2021 respectively, while a spin-off called ROOM CAMP aired in 2020.

Crunchyroll describes Laid-Back Camp as:

Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.

The Laid-Back Camp manga by Afro, which began in 2015 and has 12 tankoubon volumes as of April 2021. The Houbunsha-published manga was first serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward but is currently running in the COMIC FUZ app, and is published under the Manga Time KR Comics label. 

The Laid-Back Camp movie’s staff includes Yoshiaki Kyougoku (Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and 2) as director, Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and series composer and scriptwriter) and Mutsumi Itou (ROOM CAMP series composer and scriptwriter, Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and 2) as scriptwriters, and Mutsumi Sasaki (Laid-Back Camp and ROOM CAMP) as character designer. As with the series, C-Station is the animation production company.

Other returning staff from the series include Production I’s Yoshimi Umino as art director, Studio Twinkle’s Hiroaki Tanaka as photography director, Studio Road’s Taeko Mizuno as color designer, and Akiyuki Tateyama as music composer.

Meanwhile, the returning cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Nadeshiko Kagamihara, Nao Touyama as Rin Shima, Sayuri Hara as Chiaki, Aki Toyosaki as Aoi Inuyama, and Rie Takahashi as Ena Saito.
