The official website for the anime adaptation of Afro’s Laid-Back Camp manga revealed the summer 2022 premiere date and a new visual for the upcoming Laid-Back Camp Movie (Eiga Yurukyan△) featuring the five main characters who are a little older in a wide shot with Mount Fuji surrounded by other mountains.
The Laid-Back Camp movie was announced in 2018 along with the slice-of-life series’ second season and a short anime called Heya Camp (Room Camp). The staff includes Yoshiaki Gyougoku as director, Jin Tanaka and Mutsumi Itou as scriptwriters, and Mutsumi Sasaki as character designer, with all four having previous involvement with the franchise. C-Station is in charge of the animation production.
The first season of Laid-Back Camp was released in 2018. The Laid-Back Camp manga began in 2015 and released its 12th volume on April 12, 2021.
Crunchyroll describes the series as:
Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
