The Los Angeles County sheriff said Monday he is “very confident” that cops will track down the shooter who ambushed and critically wounded two of his deputies — but said investigators don’t have any leads at this point.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva told Fox11 in Los Angeles that both deputies will recover, and that “it’s just a matter of time and a lot of therapy and recovery.”

He said the names of the deputies — a 31-year-old mother and a 24-year-old man — will be released “at the discretion of our homicide detectives,” who are still working to identify their attacker.

“The homicide investigators and our major crimes, they’re being very tight-lipped,” Villanueva said. “I have asked for an update on it and they said to this point we do not have any identified suspects. We do not have a suspect that we can announce: ‘this is a suspect.’ So, we just have to be patient and let this investigation take its course.”

“I’m very confident,” he added. “We have the best minds in law enforcement at work trying to solve this and we’ll get to the bottom of it, hold him accountable for sure.”

The sheriff’s office has put up a $100,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the assailant.
