#Kyōkai Senki Mecha Anime Premieres October 5, 11-Minute Preview Released

The upcoming Kyōkai Senki mecha anime from Sunrise Beyond is set to premiere on October 5. An 11-minute non-English-subtitled preview of the first episode and a new key visual were also released.

Additionally, it was announced that a spin-off titled Kyōkai Senki: Frost Flower had begun serialization.

Announced in March, the anime is set in a world divided into four economic blocs, with each bloc possessing humanoid mechs called AMAIMs. Additionally, Japan is an oppressed vassal state, and the country has also become the frontlines of a conflict. 16-year-old mechanical enthusiast Amō Shiiba, upon meeting an autonomous AI called Gai, decides to reclaim Japan with his self-built AMAIM, Kenbu. Meanwhile, Gashin Tezuka, a brusque teenager who is part of a resistance, pursues a mysterious aircraft called Ghost.

Kyōkai Senki‘s staff includes Nobuyoshi Habara (Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202) as director, Noboru Kimura (Kemono Jihen) as series composer, and Kenichi Ōnuki (Golden Kamuy Season 3) as character designer, and Rasmus Faber (Harukana Receive) as music composer. The mechanical designs are done by Yūya Koyanagi (from KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN), Kanetake Ebikawa (Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise), Kenji Teraoka (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045), and Ippei Kyōbu (Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise), with industrial designer Ken Okuyama as supervisor.
