A new ending theme song has been previewed for the upcoming Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch! TV anime in a 15-second trailer commercial. The series is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2023.
The ending theme will be performed by Maki Kawase, who voices Yuna in the anime, and is titled “Zutto.” Meanwhile, the opening theme is “Kimi to no Mirai” and is sung by Azumi Waki, who voices Fina in the show.
Kawase and Waki join a returning voice cast that includes Rina Hidaka as Noire Foschurose and Inori Minase as Shia Foschurose.
The production staff from the first season returning for season two includes Yuu Nobuta as supervising director, Hisashi Ishii as series director, Takashi Aoshima as series screenwriter, Yuuki Nakano as character designer and chief animation director, Mimika Iwa as color designer, and Shigeo Komori as music composer. EMT Squared is in charge of the animation production for the anime again.
Other staff members consist of Hariu Katsufumi (Slow Start) as art director and Youichirou Satou (White Album 2) as photography director.
The anime is based on the light novels written by Kumanano and illustrated by 029, which are published under Shufu to Seikatsusha’s PASH Books label. Nineteen volumes have been released as of October 2022, including a short story anthology. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the light novels and manga adaptation in English for North America.
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch! is the sequel to the first Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear anime. The 12-episode first season aired from October 7, 2020 to December 23, 2020.
Funimation streamed the anime as it aired, before Crunchyroll moved the series to its platform. The former describes the story as:
Yuna’s not your typical 15-year-old. First, she’s crazy rich from playing the stock market. Second, she’s a recluse obsessed with a VRMMO game, and she’s really good at that too. Her life is pretty much perfect—until she wakes up one day inside the game she loves and back at level one. She has to start over, but this time, she has a powerful bear suit that’s guaranteed to take her places!
