#Tokyo Revengers comes to Muse Asia for Spring 2021

Muse Asia announced that they will be streaming Tokyo Revengers on their YouTube channel from April 11 onwards, with subsequent episodes every Sunday at 02:38 AM. The anime will be available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, and Bhutan.

The manga by Ken Wakui has been adapted for an anime as well as a live-action film. The anime will be directed by Koichi Hatsumi (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, Deadman Wonderland) at LIDEN FILMS, with Yasuyuki Muto (Deadman Wonderland) in charge of series composition. Keiko Outa (Ace Attorney) and Kenichi Ohnuki (Golden Kamuy) are serving as character designers, Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen) as music composer and Satoki Iida (Assassination Classroom, Noragami Aragoto) as sound director. Official HiGE DANdism is performing the opening song titled “Cry Baby.”

The cast features Azumi Waki as Hinata Tachibana, Yuuki Shin as Takemichi Hanagaki, Daisuke Ono as Yasuhiro Mutou, Eiji Takeuchi as Nobutaka Osanai, and Kengo Kawanishi as Nahoya Kawata.

Muse Asia describes the anime as:

Takemichi Hanagaki is a part-time timer whose life is at rock bottom.

Later he learns that the only girlfriend he ever had in his life whom he dated back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana had been killed by the “Tokyo Manji Gang,” a group of vicious criminals.

The day after he learned about the incident, Takemichi’s standing on a station platform and got his back pushed onto the railroad by someone. Thinking he would die from the fall, he closes his eyes. However, when he opens it back, he somehow finds himself traveled back twelve years into the past.

Now that he returned to the peak of his life, the middle school days twelve years ago, in order to save his girlfriend, in order to change himself who had been running away all these time, Takemichi started his Revenge on his life!

Warner Bros. Japan is making the live-action adaptation of the manga, which is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 9, 2021. Tsutomu Hanabusa (live-action Kakegurui) is directing the film. Filming began earlier last year, but was halted in May 2020 to ensure the health and safety of all cast and crew members. 

Tokyo Revengers debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2017, and Kodansha published the manga’s 15th compiled book volume in December 2019.
