In the latest May 2021 issue of Shueisha’s Shoujo manga magazine Cookie, it was officially announced that a new series of Koi Ikeno’s classic manga Tokimeki Tonight, titled Tokimeki Tonight Sorekara, will start serialization in its July July 2021 issue to be released in Japan on May 26, 2021.

The manga’s original series featuring three generations of protagonists – Ranze Eto, Narumi Ichihashi, and Aira Makabe – was serialized in the publisher’s Ribon magazine from 1982 to 1994, and its first arc’s TV anime adaptation was aired for 34 episodes from 1983 to 1984. The entire series has printed more than 30 million copies (including digital edition).

The story of the new series is set after the third arc, where the crisis that struck the world is over thanks to Aira, and centers on the first arc’s protagonist Ranze in her 40s and her daily life.
