#Kodak Black & Jackboy Beef Behind Fatal 2023 Shooting, Say Cops

Seminole County, FL – Kodak Black and Jackboy‘s purported beef has allegedly turned deadly, with police claiming that it was the cause of a fatal shooting in 2023.

The Miami Herald is reporting that authorities are saying that the shooting — which happened on January 16, 2023 and took place outside of a Jackboy concert at The Barn in Sanford, FL — was inspired by a “dispute” between the two artists, though the police went out of their way to say that neither were directly involved.

Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma claimed that the shooters thought they were aiming at Jackboy’s crew, but shot a different van instead.

Six armor-piercing bullets struck the passengers of the allegedly mistakenly-targeted van, and one of the people inside — 31-year-old Princess Tolliver — died on the scene.

Tolliver’s father, Edward, told WESH that his daughter — whom The Miami Herald has identified as a civilian employee of the Florida State University Police Department — didn’t deserve her fate.

“Now my daughter is dead because of this stupid gun activity and the racketeering and selling of drugs,” he said. “She was just having a good time and now she’s dead.”

On Tuesday (February 26), the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had arrested 13 people — all of whom are alleged members of the OTF (“On Top Forever”) gang — in connection with the drive-by shooting. The arrests came after an investigation that spanned more than a year and involved more than 120 search warrants.

One man, however, remains at large, and he has an outstanding warrant for first-degree premeditated murder — a charge that potentially carries the death penalty if the accused is convicted of the crime.

“Our detectives have determined that none of the victims were the intended target that night,” said Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma at a news conference announcing the arrests. “We found that the likely motive for the incident stemmed from a very public, high-profile dispute playing out on social media and in the court system involving Jackboy and a known associate of the shooters, another rap artist Bill Kapri, known by the stage name Kodak Black.”

Sheriff Lemma made clear that there is “no evidence” that either Kodak Black or Jackboy are directly involved in the drive-by shooting, and neither rapper has been charged with any crime.

“It was clear [the suspects] had been watching this very public debate between Kodak Black and Jackboy … and probably took this as an opportunity to make a name for themselves,” he said at the same conference.

The thirteen arrested have been charged with murder, attempted murder, racketeering and car theft. Two female associates of the arrestees have also been arrested and charged with related crimes.

Kodak Black and Jackboy’s relationship turned sour in June 2021, when the Sniper Gang boss dissed his entire label and retaliated by throwing $100,000 into the ocean, as well as stuffing $100 bills down the toilet.

HipHopDX has reached out to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Kodak’s longtime attorney for comment.
