Knockout City to end service on June 6, ‘Private Hosted Server’ edition to be released for PC “

Free-to-play team-based “dodgebrawl” game Knockout City will end service on June 6, developer Velan Studios announced. A “Private Hosted Server” edition of the game will be available as a free download for PC in the coming months, which will allow the game to live on forever through privately hosted servers.

Knockout City first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 21, 2021. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions were released on November 2, 2021.

“On the morning of June 6, 2023, over two years after our initial launch, all servers around the world will be shut down and the game will no longer be playable,” Velan Studios said in a message. “This was an extremely difficult decision for us, but a necessary and important one for our studio.”

Season 9, which will begin on February 28 and run for 12 weeks, will feature six back-to-back events with new cosmetics, new twists on “several of our best playlists,” an event focused exclusively on League Play, and a two-week Midnight Madness where the community will pick the two playlists they want to play to close out the final Season.

Also starting on February 28, all real-money transactions will be removed from the game.

More details about the final months of Knockout City and Private Hosted Server edition are available in a blog post on the game’s official website.
