#16-Year-Old Hikaru Imamaki to Star in The New Prince of Tennis Musical This Winter

 

 

16-year-old Hikaru Imamaki (Momosuke Oikawa in i☆Chu The Stage) is confirmed to star as the protagonist Ryoma Echizen in "Musical The Prince of Tennis II: The First Stage," the forthcoming first musical adaptation of Takeshi Konomi's The New Prince of Tennis sports manga. 

 

As a sequel to the original series The Prince of Tennis, The New Prince of Tennis has been running in the same publisher's Jump Square monthly magazine since 2009 and has released 30 volumes.

 

The Prince of Tennis musical adaptation project was launched in April 2013 and has performed more than 1,800 times and sold 2.9 million tickets in 18 years. "Musical The Prince of Tennis II: The First Stage" is scheduled to be performed at Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from December 12 to 24, 2020, at Mielparque Hall in Osaka from December 29, 2020, to January 10, 2021, then will return to Seinekan Hall from February 5 to 14, 2021. General sales of the tickets will begin on November 22

 

Imamaki wrote on Twitter, "I will be playing the role of Ryoma Echizen in the musical 'The New Prince of Tennis: the First Stage'! I'm very honored to be playing the lead role in a new stage of the series that has been loved by so many people over the years. I'll do my best, and I would appreciate your support!!"
