#Kim Kardashian Accidentally Used WRONG MAN’s Photo While Advocating For Death Row Inmate!

Right name, wrong guy! Kim Kardashian made a major legal oopsie!

While the mom of four may be hitting “pause” on her dreams of becoming a lawyer, she’s still using her massive social media platforms to be an advocate for cases that catch her attention. The latest involves death row inmate Ivan Cantu (pictured above, right).

On Monday, the SKIMS founder took to her Instagram Story to advocate for Ivan, urging her 364 million followers to sign a petition to demand “Collin County DA Greg Willis to withdraw the execution date” — as Ivan is scheduled to be put to death on Wednesday in Texas. She included a black and white photo she believed to be of Ivan — but turns out, it was a completely different Ivan!

The same day, Ivan A. Cantu, a project manager who lives in New York, was alerted to what was likely one of the biggest surprises of his life after seeing HIS face plastered on Kim’s social media! The 60-year-old (pictured above, left) told TMZ his family informed him of the error and he initially thought they were joking… Until he saw for himself — on his birthday of all days! He wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post:

“To all my friends and family, I am not getting executed, some idiot who runs @kimkardashian used my picture instead of Ivan ‘Abner’ Cantu”

OMG!

He doubled down, telling the outlet he “understands that someone from Kim’s team likely shared the incorrect image by mistake.” But at the same time he said he would definitely welcome an apology.

It’s unclear if Kim reached out to Ivan A. personally, but she has since deleted her Story post and issued the following apology:

“A wrong image of Mr. Cantu was posted earlier today and I would like to apologize to the person who’s [sic] image was used in error”

She followed up with another post with pics of the correct incarcerated Ivan. Huh. You know, it would be really shrewd to make this kind of “mistake” to turn this into a story — and get more attention on Cantu’s case. Hmm. Maybe Kim hasn’t lost that legal training yet after all?
