Fulton County, GA – Young Thug’s attorneys made a last-ditch effort to convince the Fulton County court system to grant the YSL boss bond after being arrested in May.

While he wasn’t given bond just yet in his RICO case, Thugger remotely listened in from Cobb County Jail to Thursday’s hearing (June 2) where a judge allowed his lawyer, Brian Steel, to remain on his case even though the prosecution insisted he be taken off due to conflicts of interests with other co-conspirators in the YSL indictment.

Kevin Liles then took the stand and advocated for the type of philanthropic person Young Thug is. The 300 Entertainment co-founder got choked up at several points throughout his testimony wiping tears from his eyes.

“I’m kind of emotional because of how good this guy is,” he told the judge. “I’m willing to back him personally and professionally.”

The proposed bond conditions made by Thug’s lawyer called for home confinement, 24-hour police surveillance, drug testing, visitors patted down, dog searches and video footage of the property at all times.

Liles put his reputation on the line and said he would back the bond conditions financially himself if Thugger couldn’t put up his own money.

“This whole thing that people are talking about, it’s not him,” Liles contested. “The Jeffery I know, he’ll give me the clothes off his back. The Jeffery I know, I can give him my kids and he’ll give me his kids.”

According to The New York Times’ Joe Coscarelli, Machine Gun Kelly, who toured and collaborated with Thugger in the past, sent a video message to the judge highlighting Thug’s charitable work in the community.

“You got the song and dance but now you’re about to get the rest of the story,” the prosecution responded. “This is all about money… Everything you heard was someone that has a financial interest… [Young Thug] has said in his songs that it’s all about the money.”

The judge is yet to make a ruling on Young Thug’s potential bond.
