Kendrick Lamar & SZA Join Forces For 'Luther' Video

Kendrick Lamar and SZA just dropped the visual to their chart-topping hit “Luther” – and there’s a bit of a Drake tie-in involved!

Released on Friday (April 11), the video is directed by Karena Evans, who has directed more than a few videos for Drizzy over the years! The Toronto-bred talent is behind his 2018 visuals for “God’s Plan,” “Nice for What” and “In My Feelings,” as well as 2024’s “I’m Upset.”

She also directed SZA’s “Garden (Say It Like Dat)” last year, however, which is likely where the relationship came about.

The arena tour kicks off on April 19 in Minneapolis, MN and wraps up on June 18 in Landover, MD, with stops in cities such as Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Chicago along the way.

The roadshow will also swing through Kendrick’s native Los Angeles and SZA’s birthplace of St. Louis.

Earlier this month, Mustard announced he will be joining them on the road, marking the first and thus far only supporting act announced for the trek.

The Grand National Tour also stops in Toronto for two nights in June, something Jimmy Kimmel noted when SZA appeared on his show earlier this month.

“You’re going to Toronto for two nights,” the host said. “Are you worried about it at all?”

“Are you worried?” a seemingly nonplussed SZA responded. “I think it’s gonna be so fun.”

“What if you-know-who shows up to the show in Toronto?” Kimmel asked, referring to Drake.

SZA pretended not to know who he was talking about.

“Who knows who?” she jokingly asked.

Meanwhile, Mustard has offered some advice to Drake on how to bounce back from his beef with Kendrick.

In an interview with Big Boy following Kendrick’s historic halftime show, the producer — who previously worked with Drizzy before scoring Dot’s Grammy-winning diss track “Not Like Us” — was asked: “What the hell does Drake do after all this?”

“I don’t know, man. I actually don’t think about what he could do,” he replied. “I just try to stay aligned with pure shit, just being pure and being on the right side of things — not doing no tactics and gimmicks.

“I’m not speaking at Drake or for him, but a lot of shit that’s going on — the tactics, the things that you do just to get attention. You don’t need to do that. Just make music, man. Make good music and you’ll be fine.”
