Kendrick Lamar Appears To Reference Drake Beef In Gatorade Ad

Kendrick Lamar appears to reference his beef with Drake in a new commercial for Gatorade.

Kendrick became the first ever rapper to sign an endorsement deal with the energy drink and dropped the first ad as part of the partnership yesterday (25 May).

While “Peekaboo” plays in the background, Lamar narrates the advertisement and near the end of the clip he looks into the camera and says: “Going the distance. Losing. So I know I always win.”

The remark appears to be a gentle reminder that he triumphed over Drake in their heated beef last year.

While Lamar is widely considered to have conquered Drake, Joey Bada$$ has emerged as a new contender in recent weeks with the New Yorker taking several shots at the Compton native.

On “My Town”, Joey spat: “I’m the real boogeyman, y’all n-ggas should be afraid / Get the general, I’m killing his troops.”

He later added: “Don’t make me Pulitzer, better be wise because / I’m dottin T’s and cross your eyes like Whitaker.”

On recent diss track “The Finals”, Joey also rapped: “I salute you Kenny but I know you well aware / You lookin’ for some competition? Then just know that I’ll be right here.”

The track, which is mainly aimed at TDE rapper Rey Vaughn, also includes bars such as: “The way you let Dot dick sit in your mouth / This that same dick linkin’ I was talkin’ about / You n-ggas would do anything for the clout / Crash out over n-ggas who won’t even let you in they house / I bet you ain’t even got his number/It’s funny how the thirst is bein’ disguised as hunger.

Things kicked off between Joey and the West Coast as a whole when he dropped “The Ruler’s Back” in January.

On the song, he rapped: “Too much West Coast dick lickin’ / I’m hearing n-ggas throwin’ rocks, really ain’t shit stickin’ / ‘Cause if we’re talking bar for bar, really it’s slim pickings / I rap like I draw pentagrams and kill chickens, n-gga / Fuck around with your soul like Ether, quick for a feature / This that black Air Force energy comin’ out your speaker.”
