Carson replaces his label boss at the top of the chart with Carti’s MUSIC dropping to number seven after three nonconsecutive weeks at the summit after it originally took the world by storm last months following various lengthy delays to its release.

Elsewhere on the chart, Kendrick Lamar‘s GNX still continues to perform incredibly strongly as it rises back up to number two as the Compton superstar begins his Grand National tour with SZA.

As for his former TDE labelmate, SZA has also moved up to number three on the Billboard 200 with her blockbuster SOS.

Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR‘s collaborative effort $ome $exy $ongs 4 U also remains in the top five but has dropped from number three even as the project continues to put up strong numbers on streaming platforms.

Carson previously received a co-sign from JAY-Z back in 2023 when the rap legend put together a playlist of some of his favorite current music.

Jay included Ken Carson’s “Jennifer’s Body” as part of the year-ending list with the then rising star featured alongside more established artists such as Drake, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.

In a rare interview last year with PopKillerTV, Carson offered insight into his musical philosophy and his relationship with his hardcore following of fans.

He said: “I think it plays a lot with being true to yourself. I feel like people gravitate to things they could relate to and feel other than it being another rapper because there’s a million rappers.”

Carson reaffirmed his commitment to his art: “You gotta care about everything you do in life, from your clothes to your music to your lifestyle. It’s a different level of being an artist.”
