#KeiyaA shares Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

The first thing I noticed when I pressed play on KeiyaA’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert was the piercingly bright lights glinting from each of the R&B artist’s ears. What initially registered in my brain as massive crystals were quickly revealed to be the lights of miniature candelabras affixed to her ears. It wouldn’t be the first loop KeiyaA’s thrown me for: her 2020 album Forever, Ya Girl had a consistently challenging energy that made the record one of our favorites of the year. Whether you’re familiar with KeiyaA or just joining the fold, her lovely concert for NPR offers something new, thanks to the full-band renditions of the album tracks “Do Yourself a Favor,” “Hvnli,” “Finesse Without a Trace,” and “Rectifiya.” Give it a watch above.
