#Katie Hill wins restraining order against ex-husband

Former “throuple” pol Katie Hill on Tuesday won a restraining order against her ex-husband, whom she accused of choking and threatening her during years of abuse.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered Kenneth Heslep to stay at least 100 yards away from the ex-California congresswoman, as well as her mother and sister.

Hill, 33, said that she was seeking a restraining order “because I am afraid that [Heslep] will not give up until I am dead,” court documents state.

In her filing, she detailed an alleged pattern of abuse over the course of her 15-year relationship with Heslep, which began when she was 15 and he was 20.

“He has previously killed and harmed my pets as a way to control and terrorize me,” Hill said.

Heslep, she alleged, repeatedly choked her unconscious during sex, threatened her with guns and angrily pinned her against walls. He also allowed his two dogs to kill her cat, she claimed.

Hill had previously accused Heslep exposing the sex scandal that prompted her resignation last year.

A rising star in the Democratic party, Hill, then 32, stepped down less than a year into her term after her nude photos and private text messages were leaked to conservative media.

The openly bisexual lawmaker was accused of having an affair with her legislative director and of having a three-way relationship with Heslep and her 24-year-old campaign worker.

Hill admitted she had an “inappropriate relationship” with the campaign worker before becoming a representative. She denied a tryst with her congressional staffer, which would have violated House rules.

In a statement at the time, she implied that her then-estranged husband was to blame for leaking her nude photos. The two finalized their divorce in September.

Hill echoed those claims in her court papers, accusing Heslep of releasing sexually explicit photos in order to destroy her life and career “after I had gathered the courage to leave him.”

Hill said her ex-husband was waging a smear campaign against her and still leaking disparaging stories to the media.

“Apparently, running me out of Congress was not enough for Kenny,” her filing said.

“He continues to try to ruin me, creating bizarre conspiracy theories and peddling lies to media outlets, doing everything in his power to continue his abuse and maintain any control he can over me.”

Hill also alleged that her ex-husband was “obsessed with guns” and had at least a dozen.

As part of the restraining order, Heslep was ordered to sell, store with a licensed dealer or give up his guns to police. He was also required to stay away from Hill’s dog, goat and horse.

The order stands until a Dec. 30 hearing to further discuss the case.

Heslep couldn’t immediately be reached for comment by The Associated Press.
