#Kathryn Hahn Says Forthcoming Agatha Series Is All She Hoped For

(Warning: This article contains spoilers for WandaVision. While the author is aware that the series has been out for an entire year now, he is also aware that some people have not yet watched it and… well… proceed at your own risk if you haven’t.)

It was Agatha all along.

WandaVision was the first Marvel series to premiere on Disney+ and it was a resounding success. A large part of the success of WandaVision has to go to Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. The villain of the show, she quickly became a fan favorite. The character even had her own song that became immensely popular, to the point where it was actually released as a single.

Agatha became such a popular character that Marvel’s Kevin Feige announced Hahn would get her own show on Disney+ called Agatha: House of Harkness. While we don’t know much about the show yet, we do know that the process has begun for Agatha: House of Harkness. And now, in an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Hahn didn’t exactly talk a lot about Agatha: House of Harkness, which is still in development, she did mention that what she has seen so far is “exactly what I would have hoped and dreamt.”

Kathryn Hahn Is In Demand Right Now

In addition to the forthcoming Marvel series, the 48-year-old actress also appears in the upcoming Knives Out 2 for Netflix. And most recently, she starred in Apple TV+’s The Shrink Next Door with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

In the Entertainment Weekly interview, Hahn discussed how now is a great time for an actress her age to be getting roles.

Hahn said, “It’s a thrilling time for women my age. There seems to be an opening for more roles for women over a certain age that are complex, messy, contradictory kind of anti-heroes.”

Citing roles like Olivia Colman’s in Landscapers and Kate Winslet’s in Mare of Easttown. Hahn called it “kismet” that she “happened to walk into a time in which these parts happened to be more.”

The talented actress has taken all kinds of roles, not sticking with any specific genre of project. For her, the genre isn’t as important so much as being able to tell interesting and empathetic stories. And as long as the viewers keep reacting positively to Hahn’s performances, she will get the opportunity to keep telling such stories.

Hahn said, “It’s crazy to me and kind of buoying that this big chapter happened post-kids for me. I subconsciously was taught that after I had kids, I’d have to drop my ambition ball, and that really didn’t seem to be the case. In fact, more doors opened.”

WandaVision is currently streaming on Disney+. Although it has been announced for Disney+, there is no specific release date announced for Agatha: House of Harkness yet, although it is expected sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. It is possible that Hahn’s Agatha could still appear somewhere in a Marvel project somewhere before Agatha: House of Harkness, however.
