#KAINA shares “Anybody Can Be In Love,” announces new album

It Was A Home is out on March 4.

2019 saw the release of Next to the Sun, the debut album from Chicago singer-songwriter KAINA. Around a foundation of classic soul, KAINA constructed a colorful and thoroughly engaging series of songs (the chopped-up amen breaks on “Waiting on a Day” are still quite remarkable). As Pitchfork reports, KAINA has announced her sophomore effort It Was A Home with a new single called “Anybody Can Be In Love.”

KAINA broke down the new song in a press statement:

“Anybody Can Be in Love” is about letting go and accepting love when it comes to any sort of relationship, romantic or platonic. I’ve seen myself and my close friends miss out on a really great moment we’ve wished for or a great relationship because we’re so fixated on getting hurt or being fearful. “Anybody Can Be in Love” is a little reminder to keep it simple and enjoy the moments you’ve been waiting for. Sonically, I wanted the track to sound very psychedelic and dreamy. Almost like love is taking over and you’re just losing yourself in a moment. It was a pleasure working on this with first time collaborator Biako along with Sen Morimoto and longtime bandmate Michael Cantella on bass.

It Was A Home drops on March 4. Below, see KAINA’s upcoming tour dates spanning the United States, Canada, and Europe.
