#Kaiju No.8 Season 2 Premieres in 2025

2025 has been revealed as the release date for Kaiju No.8 Season 2.

2025 will also see a recap of Season 1 being screened in theaters with another slice of content (presumably a short) titled Hoshina no Kyuujitsu (Hoshina’s Day Off).

Additionally, it was announced that a special event will be held on June 1, 2025 JST at Kannai Hall.

Kaiju No.8 Season 1 premiered in April and is available on Crunchyroll (which has already confirmed its streaming of Season 2) and Ani-One Asia ULTRA. Episodes were streamed on X (formerly Twitter) as well.

The anime is based on t he Shueisha-published manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which debuted in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and has 13 tankoubon volumes as of July 2024. VIZ Media describes the manga as: 

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
