#Misaki no Mayoiga Anime Film Gets New Trailer, Premieres August 27

The official website for the anime film adaptation of Sachiko Kashiwaba’s Misaki no Mayoiga (The Abandoned House by the Cape) light novel revealed a new trailer, additional staff and cast, and August 27 premiere date.

The film’s cast includes Mana Ashida as Yui and Takuya Tasso (Iwate prefecture’s governor) as Kappa of Kozuchigawa.

Newly added staff members include Kamogawa as character designer and Yuri Miyauchi as music composer. Previously announced staff members include Shinya Kawatsura (Sagrada Reset, Kokoro Connect) as director and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Violet Evergarden) as scriptwriter. The animation production will be from David Production.

The Misaki no Mayoiga light novel launched in 2015 and won the Noma Juvenile Fiction Award in 2016. The film follows a seventeen-year-old girl named Yui and her interactions with the new people she meets, as well as a traditional Japanese house located near the sea called “Mayoiga.”
