The clip features what we assume to be a smooth cut from the project with production from frequent collaborator Statik Selektah. In addition to Statik getting behind the boards for 2000, Joey revealed to XXL that fans can expect beats from Kirk Knight, Cardo, Mike WiLL Made-It and hopefully DJ Premier.
His most recent single arrived in March with “Head High,” which finds him paying homage to XXXTENTACION and Capital Steez. Nas actually dubbed the record to be “the perfect” single after Joey played the Queensbridge icon his forthcoming album.
Joey Bada$$ also announced that he’s hitting the road this summer for the 1999-2000 Tour celebrating his new album and the 10th anniversary of his classic 1999 project, which arrived a decade ago in June 2012 when Joey burst onto the scene as Brooklyn’s latest teenage rap prodigy.
The trek kicks off in Boston on July 1 and makes stops in Toronto, Philly, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Portland and wraps up in Los Angeles on July 28. Capella Grey is slated to perform as the opening act on the North American tour.
