“These are anxious times, to state the obvious, but it’s so appreciated what all of you are doing for the campaign,” the presumptive Democratic nominee told the donors, Bloomberg News reported.
“Folks, as they say, it’s go time. This is the most important election of our lifetime,” Biden added.
The event was hosted by Climate Leaders for Biden, whose members include former presidential candidate Tom Steyer and others with Silicon Valley connections, according to the news outlet.
It was held with the aim of raising more money than any prior single Biden event, Steyer spokesman Ben Gerdes told Bloomberg.
Biden spoke about the racial unrest roiling the country in the aftermath of the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and vowed that he’d offer more climate policy, the outlet reported.
Tickets started at $100,000 and went up to $360,600, with the first $5,600 going to Biden’s campaign and the rest to the Democratic National Committee and state Democratic parties.
