Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube is based on the Jigoku Sensei Nube manga series, written by Makura and illustrated by Okano. It first debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 24, 1993 and ran until May 11, 1999. It was then followed by Jigoku Sensei Nube NEO and Jigoku Sensei Nube S, and also the spin-offs Reibaishi Izuna and Reibaishi Izuna: Ascension.
A previous TV anime produced by Toei Douga (now Toei Animation) aired from 1996 to 1997. The manga also inspired a 10-episode live-action drama in 2014.
Remow licensed Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube for streaming outside of Japan, which describes the main synopsis as:
A number of inexplicable phenomena have been plaguing the town of Domori. In order to protect the town’s children, a new homeroom teacher known as “Nube” arrives.
Normally gentle and a bit outgoing, Nube has a secret side: he is, in fact, the only psychic teacher in Japan. Rumor also has it his left hand is possessed by a demon!
Hell’s messenger of justice is here to take on the school’s seven mysteries, ghosts, and evil spirits attacking his students. This occultist action story starts now!
