#Jeremy Lin’s NBA chance with Warriors falls apart

Jeremy Lin’s plan to sign with the Warriors’ G League team fell apart after his Letter of Clearance failed to arrive by Saturday’s waiver deadline, according to multiple reports.

The free agent guard was reportedly expected to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with Golden State, the organization that gave him his first NBA contract when he went undrafted in 2010. Lin, however, denied the reports on Twitter on Friday by saying no decision had been made.

Lin, 32, needed to get cleared by the Chinese Basketball Association before the 11 p.m. deadline in order to be able to sign with the Warriors, per ESPN.

The Warriors instead signed guard Eli Pemberton before waiving him shortly afterward. ESPN reports that Pemberton is expected to be sent to the G League Santa Cruz Warriors since the organization still has his rights.

In 2019-20, Lin played for the CBA’s Bejing Ducks. But it appears he’s been trying to make his way back to the NBA having recently been working out with the G League’s new development team, ESPN reports.

Lin last played in the NBA with the Raptors in 2019, when Toronto won its first NBA title. He is best known for his “Linsanity” time with the Knicks in 2012. Over the course of 480 NBA games from 2010 to 2019, Lin averaged 11.6 points and 4.3 assists.
