One of Japan’s biggest musical artists, Hikaru Utada, will be making her TV anime artist debut on the upcoming To Your Eternity adaptation of the manga series of the same name by A Silent Voice creator Yoshitoki Oima. Utada will be singing the theme “PINK BLOOD” for the NHK-produced series.

Hikaru Utada is currently on an anime streak, also returning to the Evangelion franchise with “One Last Kiss” as the theme song for the anime film Evangelion 3.0+1.0. “PINK BLOOD” will be her first-ever theme song for a TV anime series, only previously singing for anime films and video games.

 

 

To Your Eternity is scheduled to premiere on April 12 at 10:50 PM on NHK-E for 20 episodes in Japan, with a stream on Crunchyroll at some point after. Brain’s Base (In/Spectre) will handle the production of the series with Masahiko Murata (NARUTO Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals) directing, Shinzo Fujita (Future Card Buddyfight X) handling the series composition, and Koji Yabuno (Space Brothers) in charge of the character design.]

 

The To Your Eternity manga is currently licensed by Kodansha in the US and is available in physical and digital formats, with simultaneous publishing of chapters as they are released in Japan on Crunchyroll. The official synopsis of the series from Crunchyroll reads:

 

A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment. But the boy has a history, and the wolf is more than meets the eye as well…
