K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN’s managing label PLEDIS Entertainment recently announced that Boo Seung-Kwan, better known as Seungkwan, will take an indefinite hiatus and refrain from participating in the upcoming group activities.
The company formed the decision in light of Seungkwan’s recent hospitalization. Although, the artist still wished to continue with the activities. The news worried his fans about his health, and they took to Twitter to support the artist.

On July 2023, PLEDIS Entertainment released a statement announcing the break of SEVENTEEN‘s vocal team member Seungkwan. They shared that Seungkwan recently visited a hospital as he was feeling unwell, and the medical officials advised him to take the necessary rest for quick recovery.
- They further stated that the artist himself is determined to continue despite the advised rest. Due to this, the company decided that he should take the necessary hiatus and improve his health before continuing his group activities.
- Furthering the announcement, they stated that Seungkwan would not be partaking in upcoming events such as the Tencent Music Entertainment Award (TMEA) 2023, fan-signing event in China, and SEVENTEEN Tour ‘FOLLOW’ to Seoul, among others. They further apologized, expressed their gratitude for fans understanding, and thanked them for their continuous support for SEVENTEEN.
Fans express their good wishes for a quick recovery
CARATs, the fans of K-pop boy group SVT, extended their good wishes to the group’s lead singer. They were concerned about his physical and mental well-being after the sudden passing of his close friend and fellow K-pop artist ASTRO’s MoonBin.
- Following the tragic death of MoonBin, Seungkwan required some time to mourn, but due to the group’s then-upcoming comeback, he had to resume his activities. Although the artist always gave his 100%, the fans couldn’t help but worry about his health and often urged him to take care of himself.
- Many CARATs expressed relief that Seungkwan will get his required self-care time. They also flooded Twitter and Weverse with support and sympathetic messages consoling and supporting their beloved artist.
Many fans also shared how they wish they could provide the same happiness and joy in times of hardship as Seungkwan has provided them. Due to this, they promised the artist that they would pray and wait for him so he could recover soon.
