Jack Nicholson‘s “illegitimate” daughter is speaking out about her estranged relationship with the actor.

According to The Daily Beast, 28-year-old Tessa Gourin is allegedly the product of The Shining actor’s fling with Janine Gourin in the early 90s. Although Jack has never acknowledged Tessa as his daughter publicly, his paternity is an “open secret” in Hollywood — everyone knows who her father is and she’s not afraid to say it anymore!

It wasn’t always like that, though. On Wednesday, the aspiring actress sat down with the outlet and explained how she used to have to keep her dad’s name out of her mouth:

“From a very young age, my mother told me not to tell anyone that I have this famous dad. I knew he was powerful and Daddy Warbucks-level rich, so I kind of equated my life to being like Orphan Annie’s.”

Tessa grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and attended fancy private schools as a youngster — all allegedly paid for by her father. Despite this, however, she has no type of relationship with the One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest star:

“I was raised by a single mother in a really intense, nuanced situation. I was dealt a really s**tty random card, but I’m not gonna let that destroy me. In fact, I’m gonna use it to fuel me.”

She didn’t say when she’d last spoken to Jack, but she did say she “doesn’t know him” well, not through the fault of her own:

“My mom wanted me to have a relationship with him, but he said he wasn’t interested.”

When asked by the outlet why he didn’t want a relationship, her guess is as good as anyone else’s:

“I don’t think anyone’s ever given me a concrete answer. I formed my own opinion. He’s a complicated person, and I think my mom fights her own demons, and with the combination of the two, I was simply collateral damage.”

Oof.

Tessa’s relatively nonexistent relationship with the film star doesn’t stop genetics from running deep according to her! She said she shares a lot of similarities with her dad:

“I’m f**king crazy. I’m not the poster child for sanity, and I do think that’s a little similar to my dad, from what I’ve read.”

LOLz!!

The young woman also said she has a passion for acting, just like Jack — but she’s no nepo baby:

“I was afraid people would think I was tacky or that I was riding off his coattails. But this person doesn’t want me in his life, so how would you use that to your benefit?”

Earlier this week, Tessa penned an article for Newsweek titled I’m Jack Nicholson’s Daughter — I Wish People Could Call Me A Nepo Baby, where she continued:

“Having grown up without my father, I’ve sat on the sidelines and watched in frustration as other celebrity children have seamlessly secured roles or been signed to huge agencies. More recently, I have grown even more frustrated at what I think is a missed opportunity for these so-called ‘nepo babies’ to own their position and embrace it instead of complaining about it.”

Wow! Being the daughter of one of the most famous actors in the world but not being able to have the privileges a nepotism baby has must be wild… No wonder she’s frustrated.
