“Isao Takahata Film Festival Hits Ikebukuro in August”

Tokyo is going to experience a treasury of animated feature films this summer, because special summertime screenings of five films directed by Isao Takahata are coming to the Tokyo CInema Sunshine venue in Ikebukuro for a film festival that runs from August 11 – 18, 2022.

The films being screened include: The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013); Horus: Prince of the Sun (1968); Panda! Go Panda! (1972) and its sequel, Rainy Day Circus (1973); and Pom Poko (1994). The exact details of each screening will be revealed at a later date on the official website for Tokyo Grand Cinema Sunshine. General admission tickets to the film screenings cost 1900 yen (about $13.81 US).
