Is it fame going to Gov. Cuomo’s head?

We’re not even sure he realizes how many New Yorkers rolled their eyes at news that he’d won an Emmy for, in the words of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, “effective use of television during the pandemic.”

Yep, Hollywood loves him, and not just for the Empire State’s most-generous-in-the-nation subsidies for the entertainment industry: The glitterati also see him as an excellent counter to President Trump.

And never mind the coming combined $63 billion deficits, nor the thousands of nursing-home residents dead after his order made it impossible to keep the coronavirus out.

Clearly, it matters more that a bevy of celebrities — Robert De Niro, Spike Lee, Rosie Perez, Billy Crystal, Billy Joel — fawned all over him in a montage tribute, hailing him as “the nation’s governor” and “the epitome of New York tough.”

If “tough” looks like blaming Trump and drugmakers Pfizer and Moderna for being too fast in coming up with coronavirus vaccines, as Cuomo did last week — fine, award him an Emmy.

Not that this gov needs his vanity fed. This is a guy who wrote a book about his own magnificent leadership during the pandemic — even as the virus still rages.

The latest sign he’s lost any real common touch came Monday, when Cuomo mentioned that his 89-year-old mother, Matilda, and two of his daughters would join him up in Albany for Thanksgiving. This, when he’s been urging everyone else not to travel or gather for the holiday. The screams of disbelief and fury prompted the gov to change his plans, but wow.

Worst of all, The Cuomo Show isn’t close to being done, and likely won’t be until he signs a deal with E! to replace “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
