#Inside the madness of Kanye West’s wild 2020 presidential bid

Like most of life’s best laid plans, Kanye West’s half-baked bid for the presidency was hatched in the shower — where God supposedly told him it’s time.

The sudden moment of clarity prompted the rapper’s July 4 announcement to throw his hat in the ring against both President Trump and Joe Biden in a sudden 2020 presidential bid — but then spiraled out of control this week with an emotional campaign rally in South Carolina and flurry of rambling tweets that prompted many to question the state of his mental health.

No stranger to controversy, Kanye’s West Wing dreams have suddenly devolved into a reality show — one fittingly fit for a Kardashian.

West’s tweet that he was vying for the Oval Office instantly caught fire — garnering more than 1.2 million likes and thousands of tweets of support, including from Tesla co-founder Elon Musk — never mind the fact that he’s missed nearly every state filing deadline.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” West tweeted on the Fourth of July to his 30 million followers. “I am running for president of the United States.”

The 43-year-old dad of four opened up about his unconventional run four days later in a wide-ranging interview with Forbes, in which he described himself as an anti-abortion, anti-vaxxer who entrusts God to “appoint” the president.

He credited the Almighty Creator with inspiring his bonkers bid for presidency in the shower at Kris Jenner’s house after being offered the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

“It hit me to say, ‘You’re going to run for president,’ and I started laughing hysterically, I was, like, this is the best, I’m going to go out there and they’re going to think I’m going to do these songs and do this for entertainment, how rigged awards shows are, and then say I’m going to run for president,” he recalled.

“And I just laughed in the shower, I don’t know for how long, but that’s the moment it hit me.”

Once an ardent supporter of President Trump, West blasted the two-party system, saying as a black man, he didn’t appreciate feeling pressured into voting for a Democrat — but was also “taking the red hat off, with this interview.”

“One of the main reasons I wore the red hat as a protest to the segregation of votes in the black community,” he explained. “Also, other than the fact that I like Trump hotels and the saxophones in the lobby.”

West said he’s running under the self-styled banner called the Birthday Party “because when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday.”

Meanwhile, if elected, the self-obsessed “Gold Digger” rapper said he plans to run the country like Wakanda, the fictional nation in the film “Black Panther,” while referring to himself as “one of the most powerful humans.”

“I’m gonna use the framework of Wakanda right now because it’s the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House,” he told Forbes.

West seems serious about becoming president — despite his late entry into the race.

Earlier this month, he filed the $35,000 fee to appear on the Nov. 3 ballot in Oklahoma and Statement of Organization paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.

The Chicago-born sneaker mogul has also been pushing his platform on Twitter, urging his followers to register to vote — after doing so himself for the first time in his life on July 6 — and posting a photoshopped picture of his face on Mount Rushmore.

But West — who has in the past talked about having bipolar disorder — began to go off the rails at his first campaign rally in South Carolina on Sunday during a rambling speech where he touted his IQ of 132.

“I went to the hospital because my brain was too big for my skull,” he told the crowd in North Charleston.

West — dressed in a bulletproof vest and with “2020” shaved into his head — then took a baffling swipe at famed abolitionist Harriet Tubman, claiming she “never actually freed the slave, she just had the slaves go work for other white people.”

Kanye West tweeted a photoshopped image of Mount Rushmore including his face amongst the presidents and simply wrote “2020” as the caption.

Then came the topic of abortion — which sent him hysterical.

“I almost killed my daughter!” West wept.

He claimed his reality-star girlfriend-turned-wife Kim Kardashian “had the pills in her hand” to induce the abortion of their first-born child North West.

Kardashian first became pregnant in 2012, nine months after they started dating.

But then, he received a sign from God — through his laptop.

“My screen went black and white. And God said, ‘If you f–k with my vision, I f–k with yours’ … And I called my girlfriend and said, ‘We’re going to have this child.’ ”

The pair eventually had North, now 7, and went on to have son Saint, 4, daughter Chicago, 2, and son Psalm, 1.

At one point during the campaign event, West flip-flopped on his anti-abortion stance, saying he believes it should be legal but suggested incentivizing women to keep their babies.

“Everybody that has a baby gets a million dollars,” West said as an example.

“No more Plan B, Plan A,” he added.

On Monday, Page Six exclusively reported that West’s tirade left Kardashian “mortified” and “desperately worried” that he wasn’t taking his medication — with the whole family concerned he was in the throes of a bipolar episode.

“She has desperately been trying to help Kanye, keep him calm and prevent him from having any public meltdowns,” the source said. “He won’t take medications because he feels they make him less creative. But [to] go out and say that about [their eldest daughter] North is shocking. Kim is devastated. She’s worked so hard to help him, but she won’t let him do this to their children.”

In an interview last year on David Letterman’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” West spoke candidly about having bipolar disorder.

“If you don’t take medication every day to keep you at a certain state, you have a potential to ramp up and it can take you to a point where you can even end up in the hospital,” said West, who was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold in 2016.

“When you ramp up, it expresses your personality more. You can become almost more adolescent in your expression. This is my specific experience that I’ve had over the past two years, because I’ve only been diagnosed for two years now.”

The 21-Grammy winning rapper’s troubling behavior was on full display again Monday in a series of tweets that accused Kardashian of trying to “lock me up.”

“Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor,” the rapper tweeted from Wyoming, where he and his wife own a ranch and live part-time. “If I get locked up like Mandela… Ya’ll will know why.”

He also appeared to take a dig at momager Jenner.

“I put my life on my God that Norths mom would never photograph her doing playboy and that’s on God,” he wrote. “I put my life on the line for my children that North’s mother would never sell her sex [t]ape.”

Then, he claimed the Oscar-winning thriller “Get Out” — about race relations between white and black people — was about him.

Another tweet he sent referred to Bill Cosby’s 2018 conviction on sexual assault charges.

“NBC locked up Bill Cosby,” West wrote in the since-deleted post.

Some of the other tweets have also been yanked — save for one that simply said, “Ima focus on the music now.”
