“#Injured Athlete Finds Inspiration in RE-MAIN TV Anime Trailer”

An injured athlete finds new inspiration in a new preview video for RE-MAIN, an upcoming original sports anime with a water polo theme. The video (below) introduces the main characters and central conflict of the series.
RE-MAIN follows Minato Kiyomizu, a young man who in his third year of middle school led the school’s water polo team to a championship victory. However, on the way home from the tournament, Minato suffered a traffic accident that put him in a coma for 204 days. When he awoke, Minato had no memory of the previous year or his love for water polo. When Minato enters high school, one promise leads to him start playing water polo with the friends he meets there. However, the weak and small water polo club faces a variety of difficulties…
RE-MAIN is directed by Masafumi Nishida and Kiyoshi Matsuda and features animation production by MAPPA. The series will broadcast in Japan as part of the TV Asahi “NUMAnimation” programming block on Saturdays during the 25:30 time slot (actually on Sunday morning at 1:30am JST) beginning on July 03, 2021.
