Gavilán Rayna Russom has announced a new Black Meteoric Star album, NYC Beat Boxx. The producer and LCD Soundsystem member’s latest LP will arrive September 8 via her own label Voluminous Arts. Hear tracks from NYC Beat Boxx below.

Inspired by the vinyl “beat collections” that circulated within the city in the 1980s, Russom started production on NYC Beat Boxx while recovering from COVID-19 last year. Unable to access her usual studio equipment, she focused on building tracks with the analog drum machine she had at her disposal.
