Many casualties have been recorded since the beginning of the war against the Chimera Ants. But now it is time to think about the future and the successor of the chairman has to be clarified. The twelve signs of the zodiac, a council from special hunters, therefore come together for advice. However, this is completely different from what Netero wanted. Meanwhile, only gon counts for Killua. Regardless of whether he has to confront a certain magician or his brother’s needles – he does everything in his power to save his best friend, not least driven by his own guilt. He also settles accounts with his own family. The Zoldyck’s well-kept secret called “Alluka” comes to light. Painful farewells and unexpected reunions line up, but one thing is clear: Gon and Killua will remain friends, until now and from now on!

After the Chimera Ants-Arc, the so-called “13th Hunter Chairman Election” arc is determined in the remaining episodes. In contrast to the previous arc, this arc is told much faster to somehow close the anime. That makes the whole thing quite pleasant to watch, but of course the content does not come close to the Chimera Ants-Arc.

Because of the quick narration, you might think the “Hunter x Hunter” anime ends a bit abruptly. In the end, it’s not all that is brought to an end, but that is less due to the anime or the ending number of episodes, but rather to the fact that the manga was barely any further at the time, so that one had to find an end. So you can’t chalk it up big for the anime.

As always, animation and synchronization are on point and well implemented. I would like to use the situation to calculate over the anime as a whole since we have now reached the last volume.

“Hunter x Hunter” is an anime that starts a bit classically, in contrast to other Shonen titles, but at some point becomes much deeper and darker. The character development and the tension of the fights are very well done. The highlight of the 148-part series is the Chimera Ants-Arc, which takes up by far the largest part of the anime from episodes 76 to 136. In my opinion, the arc is one of the best arcs of a Shonen anime that I have ever seen. For this reason alone, it is worth watching “Hunter x Hunter”.

Volume 13 of “Hunter x Hunter” forms a neat conclusion to the anime series and is equipped with nice extras. KSM Anime did a good job of releasing the anime, releasing the anime with responsive dubbing, extras, and chic looks.
