#Hunter Biden plotted 2010 investment meeting with Serbian president, emails show

Hunter Biden plotted an investment meeting with the Serbian president and “high net worth individuals” — and planned to hitch a ride with then-Vice President Joe Biden when he flew to Europe on an official visit, newly uncovered emails show.

The emails — published by Fox News on Thursday — show that Hunter had been liaising with a registered Serbian foreign agent and the then-US Serbian ambassador in April 2010 to arrange the potential investment meeting.

The emails show that Mark Doyle, who had previously served as a senior adviser to then-Sen. Joe Biden and as national finance director of Biden’s unsuccessful presidential run in 2008, reached out to Hunter on April 16, 2010, to say he had met with Serbian President Boris Tadic’s chief of staff and they had asked about the younger Biden expressing interest in setting up a meeting.

Hunter had reportedly met with US Serbian Ambassador Vladimir Petrovic and Tadic’s national security adviser Jovan Ratkovic two months earlier.

Doyle, who was operating as a Serbian foreign agent at the time via his firm Prairie Avenue Advisors, noted that the ambassador must have relayed Hunter’s conversations to the Serbian president’s team.

“I think you mentioned that you spoke to them about putting you in front of high net worth individuals and they are ready to do that and to have you meet Tadic as well,” Doyle wrote, adding he was traveling to Serbia in May.

“My sense from [Ambassador] Vladimir is that they are very willing to help you with your fund. If you have interest you can just call Vladimir direct, you don’t need me in the middle. I think it could be good for you and the fund to go.”

Doyle later went on to lead the central super PAC that helped Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.

Hunter replied to Doyle’s email, joking that he was “Markie in the Middle” and suggested setting up the meeting for mid-May because it was around the time his father was scheduled to visit Madrid on official VP business.

“How about we go over around May 10th. JRB will be in Madrid and I can catch a ride with him and fly over to Serbia and back with you,” Hunter wrote.

Doyle said the ambassador wanted to arrange a “full-day” with Tadic and “potential investors” whom he described as “very serious people,” according to the emails.

An email sent a week later from Hunter’s business partner, Eric Schwerin, noted that Biden’s son wanted to set up the meeting right after he visited Madrid with his father.

“Right now, the idea is that Hunter might not have a specific investment opportunity to pitch,” Hunter’s business partner wrote, adding it could be “more of an introductory trip.”

He added: “One we assess the investors interest areas (wind, real estate, hedge funds, etc.) we can schedule a follow up trip to talk about the specific investment opportunity.”

On April 29, 2010, Hunter sent an email to the ambassador saying there had been a change to his schedule and he wasn’t sure if he could make the May meeting, adding he wanted to try to visit in the following months.

“Perhaps I can get back to you shortly with some dates that may work in the next month or two and we can check calendars and see what dates work best on your end,” Biden wrote, according to Fox News.

It isn’t clear if Hunter eventually did travel to Serbia and meet with the investors.

The emails are unrelated to Hunter’s infamous laptop.

According to Fox News, Hunter maintained contact with Petrovic after he gave up his ambassador post and became a lobbyist in Washington, DC.

Hunter didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment on the Serbia emails.
