The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans are set to kick off an NFL season unlike any other Thursday night.

It’s been just eight months since Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City back from a 24-0 deficit to beat the Texans in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, a huge comeback that ultimately lifted the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl win in 50 years.

However, it’s a new season under different circumstances. The coronavirus pandemic canceled the entire NFL preseason slate. Thursday night’s rematch at Arrowhead Stadium will be the first game anybody’s played since February.

What time is the game?

Thursday, September 10 at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Where is the game taking place?

The Chiefs are hosting at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

How can I watch?

This game will air on NBC. It is also available for streaming on fuboTV, Hulu Live TV and Sling TV.

What is the weather forecast?

Forecasts for Thursday’s game look like cooler temperatures in the mid-50’s as well as scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Who is favored to win?

The Chiefs are 9 1/2 point favorites over the Texans, according to BetMGM.

The moneyline (outright win) is Texans 350 (bettor risks $100 to win $350), and Chiefs -455 (bettor risks $455 to win $100).

What are the teams’ matchup history?

This will be the 11th regular-season contest between the two franchises. Each team has won five games in the series history, with Kansas City emerging victorious in the two playoff games the teams have played.

The Texans led the last season’s Divisional Round matchup 24-0 before Patrick Mahomes led a Chiefs rally in the 51-31 victory.

The Texans are 2-1 all-time at Arrowhead Stadium in the regular season. This is the first time in franchise history that Houston will open the NFL regular season with the league’s first game.

Will there be fans?

The Kansas City Chiefs are just one of a handful of teams that are permitting a limited number of fans to attend games at their stadium starting Week 1. Arrowhead Stadium will be filled at 22 percent capacity Thursday night, with roughly 16,000 fans at the maximum being allowed into building.
