How to Disable Snap Assist on Windows 10

First, launch the Settings app by opening the Start menu and clicking the small gear icon in the left side of the Start menu. You can also press Windows+i to launch it.

In the Windows 10 Start Menu, click the "gear" icon to open Settings.

In Settings, click “System.”

In Windows 10 Settings, click "System."

In System settings, click “Multitasking” in the sidebar. Then, locate the “Snap windows” option and flip the switch to turn it “Off.”

In Windows 10 Multitasking settings, turn "Snap windows" to "Off."

After that, close Settings. You can now position windows anywhere on the screen without worrying about them snapping into place. Oh, snap!
