The Red Bulls are in the bubble. And though it has already burst for two MLS teams, they are getting comfortable and not complaining.

The Red Bulls will make their first appearance in the MLS is Back Tournament on Saturday in Orlando, Fla., against the Houston Dynamo.

“We came in, we had our regular 12-24-hour quarantine, passed our tests, got to see the hotel, acclimate, get outside and play,” defender Aaron Long said during a Zoom call with the media on Thursday.

Captain Sean Davis was impressed that the team staff got every player an N-95 mask.

Nevertheless, all the preventative measures couldn’t keep FC Dallas and Nashville SC in the tournament. FC Dallas withdrew earlier this week after 10 players tested positive and Nashville bowed out Thursday.

“It’s a little bit worrisome, you know,” Long said, “in these bubbles and in tight close quarters things can spread really quickly.”

Manager Chris Armas said players are getting used to the isolation.

“There is a lot more time in the day where players are on their own.” Armas said. “As the manager, I try to make sure that we become together a few times throughout the day, and it’s not just practice where we can take a walk outside together and do some healthy acclimating as well.”
