#Clippers trail Mavericks by NBA record 50 points at halftime

No Kawhi meant a problem of epic proportions for the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers were on the wrong side of NBA history Sunday when they trailed the Mavericks by a record 50 points at halftime.

Behind 18-points from Luka Doncic, Dallas led 77-27 at the break, the biggest halftime lead in an NBA game during the shot-clock era that began in 1954.

The Clippers were playing without star Kawhi Leonard, who suffered a mouth laceration Friday night.

Marcus Morris also was out for Los Angeles because of knee soreness.

The Mavericks were looking for their first win of the season after losing to the Suns and Lakers last week. The Clippers, on the other hand, opened the 2020-21 season with wins over the Lakers and Nuggets.
