“#House Judiciary Committee’s antitrust report on big tech could come by fall”

The committee has received 1.3 million documents from Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google thus far as it investigates whether the companies’ business practices hurt smaller rivals.
The panel had expected to question the CEOs of the four companies at a Monday hearing, but it has been delayed due to the death of Rep. John Lewis, who will lie in state at the Capitol next week.
The companies — whose combined market cap is more than $3.7 trillion — are expected to argue that they face intense competition and deny that they are dominant.
In May, antitrust panel chair Rep. David Cicilline demanded that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos testify and threatened the e-commerce giant with a subpoena after reports surfaced that the company was copying popular products sold by third-party sellers to make Amazon brand versions.
