Ani-One announced the addition of the highly anticipated Horimiya to its Winter 2021 catalog. The anime will stream on Bilibili and other platforms in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The school romance anime is scheduled to premiere on January 10 at 01:00 AM (GMT+8), with new episodes every Sunday.

Hong Kong will additionally be able to access it via MyTV Super, Brunei and Malaysia via Dimsum, Thailand via POPS Worldwide, Indonesia via sushiroll, and Philippines via POP TV. Taiwan can access the anime via myVideo, KKTV, Bahamut, Friday, Line TV, Chunghwa Telecom (MOD + Hami Video) as well.

The hugely popular manga is written by HERO and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara. The anime adaptation is directed by Masashi Ishihama (Persona 5: The Animation, Shinsekai Yori) at CloverWorks. Takao Yoshioka (Elfen Lied, Boarding School Juliet)  is serving as series composer, Haruko Iizuka (Josee, The Tiger and the Fish movie) as character designer, Hisayo Usui (Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia-) and Yasunao Moriyasu (Love Live! School idol project) as art director, Jin Aketagawa (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as sound director, Katsuaki Miyaji (Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale as CG) as CGI director, and Yuuya Sakuma (Fate/Grand Order -Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia-) as director of photography. Masaru Yokoyama (Your Lie in April) is the music composer.

The anime stars Haruka Tomatsu (Violet Evergarden) and Kouki Uchiyama (Jujutsu Kaisen) as main characters Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura respectively. Other cast members include Ai Kayano (Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld) as Yuriko Hori, Daiki Yamashita (My Hero Academia) as Shuu Iura, Daisuke Ono (Cells at Work!) as Kyōsuke Hori, Hisako Kanemoto (A Place Further Than the Universe) as Motoko Iura, Jun Fukuyama (Assassination Classroom) as Akane Yanagi, Momo Asakura (Charlotte) as Honoka Sawada and Seiichirō Yamashita (Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu) as Toru Ishikawa.

Yen Press, which publishes the manga in English, describes the series as:

At school, Kyouko Hori is known for being smart, attractive, and popular. On the other hand, her classmate, the boring, gloomy Izumi Miyamura tends to get painted as a “loser fanboy.” But when a liberally pierced and tattooed (not to mention downright gorgeous) Miyamura appears unexpectedly on the doorstep of secretly plain-Jane homebody Hori, these two similarly dissimilar teenagers discover that there are multiple sides to every story…and person!
