#HIDIVE Acquires Loner Life in Another World for Fall 2024 Simulcast

HIDIVE has announced that it has acquired the license of the fantasy adventure anime series Loner Life in Another World. The series will stream exclusively on AMC Networks’ anime streaming service as part of its Fall 2024 simulcast season.
Akio Kazumi (Fist of the Blue Sky Re: Genesis) is directing the anime adaptation, with Kenta Ihara (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy) as series screenwriter, Keiya Nakano (Keijo!!!!!!!!) as character designer, and Shuji Katayama as music composer. Hayabusa Film and Passione are handling the animation production for the series, with Frontier Engine providing production assistance.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast so far includes:
- • Shuuichiro Umeda as Haruka
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Class Rep
- • Hina Suguta as Gal Leader
- • Kyohei Natsume as Nerd A
- • Hiromu Mineta as Jock A
- • Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Delinquent A
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Shoji Goji and currently illustrated by Saku Enomaru, who took over from the first illustrator Booota. It was first published by Overlap on January 25, 2018 and has released 14 volumes as of April 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the light novels in English for North America.

The series originally started as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 12, 2016. The light novels also inspired a 2019 manga adaptation by Bibi, which is currently released in English by Kaiten Books.
HIDIVE describes Loner Life in Another World as:
After getting isekai’d into another world with his entire high school class, “God” offers Haruka and his peers their choice of special powers so they can become fantasy heroes. But Haruka accidentally missed the power selection period, and now he’s stuck with the leftover abilities his classmates refused to take! Seemingly underpowered, he makes use of his unwanted skills to live a (surprisingly comfortable) life as a lone wolf…but his classmates soon learn their “superior” abilities aren’t as great as they’re cracked up to be, and Haruka may have to come to their rescue using ingenuity, creativity, and the leftover powers his classmates once snubbed.
