The production team for the upcoming Heat the Pig Liver anime has revealed a new teaser visual and voice cast for the series, which will premiere sometime in 2023. More information about the production staff and animation studio will be released at a later date. 

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will voice the titular Pig protagonist while Tomori Kusunoki will voice main heroine Jess Yesma. Both voice actors voiced their respective characters in a special promotional video released on October 8, 2021. 

News of an anime adaptation was first announced at the Dengeki Bunko Winter Festival livestream in December 2021. 

The series is based on the light novel series written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Tousaka. Sakai launched the series after winning the gold prize in the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2019. It was published by ASCII Media Works under its Dengeki Bunko imprint and has released seven volumes as of December 2022. 

A manga adaptation with art by Minami has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine Dengeki Maoh since August 27, 2020. Three tankoubon volumes have been released as of July 2022. 

The isekai fantasy story follows an ordinary otaku who lost consciousness after eating raw pig liver. Soon after, he finds himself in another world and meets a kind girl named Jess, who can read people’s thoughts. With no special abilities or talents, the reborn pig embarks on exciting adventures with his new friend.
