It will hit the mid-90s in the tri-state area on Sunday and Monday — but it will feel like it’s well past 100 degrees, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the five boroughs between noon to 8 p.m., on Sunday, when heat and humidity will make it feel like 103 degrees outside, according to NWS forecasters.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation has also issued an air quality alert for the metropolitan area between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m.

The high temps are part of record-breaking heat wave rolling through most of the United States, with most of the country experiencing 90-degree weather over the next week.

Con Edison earlier this week said it was bracing for blackouts.

“We expect that there could be service outages — those things happen during heat waves,” Con Edison spokesman Mike Clendenin said Monday.

The city will be operating cooling centers and as well as a “cool streets” initiative, during which it will open fire hydrants with spray caps on certain streets that have already been closed to vehicular traffic during the coronavirus pandemic.
