“#Hayao Miyazaki Art Exhibition Hits Los Angeles in September”
Studio Ghibli fans rejoice, because a massive installation dedicated to the career of legendary animation director Hayao Miyazaki opens at the Academy Museum of Motion Picture Art in Los Angeles, California, beginning on September 30, 2021. The Hayao Miyazaki exhibition will be held in the Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg Gallery, and it features more than 300 pieces of art, including original imageboards, character designs, storyboards, layouts, backgrounds, posters, and animation cels.
The exhibition will also include original character goods as well as a 256 page illustrated catalog of the collection. Screenings are also planned for all 11 of the feature films that Miyazaki has produced with Studio Ghibli. The films will be screened both in the original Japanese language (with English subtitles) and in English dubbed formats.
