HAIM performed a show in Los Angeles on Wednesday night where they were joined by Addison Rae and confirmed details of their impending fourth album. Titled I Quit, the new HAIM album will be released on June 20.
The band kicked off their set at The Bellwether with an intro video displaying the phrase “I quit” that then flicked between variations, including “I quit overthinking”, “I quit shame”, and “I quit dick.” The final version read “I quit new Haim album coming June 20th.”
The trio debuted a bunch of songs from the upcoming album, including the recent singles “Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out” and “Relationships.” They also debuted the previously unheard “Down To Be Wrong” and “Blood On The Street”
It was during the latter that Addison Rae joined the band on stage. Fresh from confirming details of her own album, Rae didn’t sing on the track but danced around the band as they performed.
HAIM are due to perform a second show at the Bellweather tonight (April 24). I Quit is the band’s first album in four years and the follow-up to 2020’s Women in Music Pt. III.
In a recent interview with i-D, Alana described the new project as “the closest we’ve ever gotten to how we wanted to sound”, adding that making it was a “completely different experience” to anything the group has experienced before.
