Gunjou Releases Opening Section on YouTube

The opening minutes of the indie yuri mecha anime Volicia of Pluto Chapter Two: Gunjou have been recently released on director Arata Hirasaka‘s YouTube channel.

The preview includes the anime’s opening song sequence.

Volicia of Pluto Chapter Two: Gunjou was first screened at Nagoya’s Osu Cinema on April 21 JST. A CAMPFIRE crowdfunding campaign for the third and final Volicia of Pluto chapter began the same day and has raised 2,405,359 yen (~US$16,558.13) so far, achieving its 1 million yen goal. The campaign has 8 days left at the time of writing.

The preceding installment, Volicia of Pluto Chapter One: Gouka, was released on YouTube in July 2023 with an English caption option. The premise saw high school girl Akio Hoshigami, who loses her chance of becoming a track-and-field runner due to a leg injury, piloting a giant robot that is powered by the soul of her best friend, Ayano Umisoe.

Before Volicia of Pluto, Hirasaka made 2021’s Vapor Trail and 2022’s Penetrate Blue: -Vapor Trail Another Age 2824-, which can also be found on their YouTube channel. A web novel version of Vapor Trail was serialized on Kakuyomu from 2020 to 2021.
