Netflix has released a new key visual and announcement video for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1, which is now streaming on the streaming service. The film’s second part will be released sometime in August 2023. 

The new visual and video highlights Meliodas and Elizabeth Liones with their son Tristan, along with much of The Seven Deadly Sins cast. They include Ban, Diane, King, Gowther, Escanor, and Merlin. Netflix also released statements from some of the anime film’s voice cast in in a seperate Twitter thread. 

The main voice cast for the film includes Ayumu Murase as Tristan Liones, Mikako Komatsu as younger Tristan, Yuuki Kaji as Meliodas, Sora Amamiya as Elizabeth, Jun Fukuyama as King, Aoi Yuuki as Diane, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ban, Yuuhei Takagi as Gowther, Tomokazu Sugita as Escanor, Maaya Sakamoto as Merlin, Kouki Uchiyama as Fairy, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Priest, and Youhei Azakami as Deathpierce. 

The production staff includes Noriyuki Abe (The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky) as chief director, Bob Shirohata (Aguu: Tensai Ningyou) as director, Rintarou Ikeda (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light) as scriptwriter, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan The Final Season) and Hiroyuki Sawano (Bleach: Thousand- Year Blood War) as music composers. Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack are handling the animation production.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh is the third and latest film in the long-running The Seven Deadly Sins franchise. It follows 2018’s The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky and 2021’s The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light. 

Nakaba Suzuki serialized The Seven Deadly Sins manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine from October 10, 2012 to March 25, 2020. Forty-one tankoubon volumes have been released in total. 

The series has also inspired several anime seasons, the first of which aired in 2014 while the latest aired in 2021. A-1 Pictures produced the first two seasons, the four-episode Signs of Holy War, and Prisoners of the Sky. The later seasons and Cursed By Light were produced by Studio Deen. 

Netflix is streaming all seasons of The Seven Deadly Sins and describes the synopsis as:

14 years since the Kingdom of Liones defeated the Demon Clan and brought peace to the land, Prince Tristan is tormented by his inability to control two great powers: the Demon Clan power of his father, Meliodas, who served as captain of the Seven Deadly Sins as the Dragon Sin of Wrath, and the Goddess Clan power of his mother, Elizabeth. When Elizabeth’s life is threatened, Tristan flees the kingdom and heads toward Edinburgh, where Deathpierce — who was once a member of a group of the kingdom’s Holy Knights, the Pleiades of the Azure Sky — maintains his castle. But what are Deathpierce’s intentions? The wheel of fate begins to move and sweeps up even The Seven Deadly Sins…
