Continuous scrolling is one of the hallmarks of modern app design. You can scroll forever on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook to see an endless stream of content, all without pressing a “See More” or “Page 2” button. And now, the Google Search app supports continuous scrolling, allowing you to turn questions like “what can you do with pumpkins” into hours-long doomscrolling marathons.

Okay, maybe this one doesn’t qualify as “doomscrolling.” Most people find what they need in Google’s first few Search results, but according to Google, there’s a large subset of people who regularly dig through three or four pages in Search. This update should help those obsessive users find what they need on mobile without pressing the “see more” button.

Of course, people who tend to stay on the first page of Search results could find themselves scrolling down a lot further than usual. That gives Google the opportunity to slip more ads in Search without cluttering things up—of course, we haven’t had a chance to test this theory, so take it with a grain of salt.

Google says that continuous scrolling is now rolling out for mobile users in the United States. Once rollout is complete, the feature should appear in your mobile browser and in the Google app.
