In a little over a month, we’ll be introduced to the girls of Liella! when Love Live! Superstar!! begins on NHK-E on July 9. The series takes viewers into the heart of Harajuku to the next generation of idols who want to win the famous Love Live! competition.

The series is set in Yurigaoka Girl’s High School, located on the border of districts Osomotosando, Harajuku, and Aoyama. Five girls, led by freshmen Kanon Shibuya, become school idols and aim to participate in the Love Live contest as Liella!.

Takahiko Kyogoku, who worked on the first Love Live! TV anime series returns to the director’s chair, with Jukki Hanada writing the scripts at Sunrise. The other Love Live! series Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club currently has a second season in production for a 2022 release.
